Many times computers and people don't interact real well. Many get frustrated at their computer slowing them down, and often crashing on them. If your using a PC with Windows operating system installed, you probably know to well that blue screen of death. The blue screen that signifies, you machine has just turned into a very large paper weight.

Hard drives are a mechanical device, with moving parts; which means like anything with moving parts is has a chance of failure sometimes. But keep in mind, the biggest threat to a hard drive is the user. The user being me and you. Hard drives, although valuable, are easy to erase with just a few clicks. Sometimes I think its a sick inside joke from the Windows developers. There are also resources to help you recover lost photos from your now disfunctional hard drive.
Your Windows computer uses a system build into it called File Allocation Tables (FAT). This system is used to retrieve the files you tell it to, be it from your desktop or folders on your hard drive. When data is deleted or overwritten from your hard drive, it is out of reach of the FAT. But with the help of software, you are able to retrieve that data before it is completely overwritten.
